In ’10 babywearing questions to’ we ask parents 10 questions about babywearing. This time the lovely mama Ruth. We start off with Hanna!
This is Hanna Yari, a 30 year old mother of thee kids in the age of 0 to 4 years old. She’s a journalist and has a passion for photography and her instagram / blog Mama’s op hakken.
I have got a self-made ringsling for a maternity visit. I loved this original and beautiful present, especially because someone made all by her self for us. We used the ringsling a few times, but this type of carrier didn’t fit us so well. After that i didn’t carry my daughter anymore. After the birth of my second child i bought a babywrap and i was sold. My son cried a lot and carrying him in this wrap was the perfect way to keep him quit and close to his mum.
I started carrying my son after three weeks. The biggest reason was practical, because my son cried a lot and when i held him close he immediately felt relaxt. We also love going to places, and quick after my sons birth there was a festival we wanted to go to. I didn’t want to walk trough the bumpy and grassy area with a stroller, so we took my son in the babywrap.
I have started from practical reasons, but i still love the feeling to keep my baby close. I can imagine that it’s also for the baby the best feeling, to be constantly close to his mother. Being warm and comfy in the belly and after birth being warm and comfy in the wrap. It’s very natural.
I love to use a babywrap in the first half year, because it’s fits so perfectly around my baby’s body. And after 6 months the babycarrier is quick and easy to use. I now use the Tula Free to Grow babycarrier.
Especially on moments where i have to have my hands free, but my baby want’s attention and kept close. When my oldest needs to go to ballet, i have my toddler in the stroller and my baby in the babycarrier, ideal! Also on holidays i love to use the babycarrier. No need to take the heavy stroller with us and we can go wherever where we want to go.
Sometimes my husband wants to carry the children, but most of the times i am the one who enjoys babywearing.
My biggest favorite is the Orchid Hoeve in Luttelgeest. There are lots of animals and a huge playing garden for the kids. Also great fun when it rains out side.
Also Hansel & Gretel in Zeewolde is much fun. This is a pancake restaurant with a large play garden. The garden is free, so you only have to pay for the food and drinks.
Having your baby sleeping cosy and peaceful in the wrap close to me is the best feeling in the world.
Not really embarrassing, but in the first months many. mostly older people, thought i was still pregnant but then recognized the small feet out of the babywrap. Then they said: ohh there’s a baby, look!
When you buy a (stretchy) wrap, buy two of them. They will get dirty sometimes for example when your little one throws up milk. One extra wrap, when the other one is in the washing machine, is a musthave for me.
I nominate Ruth (@kukeluusje). Her instagram page is full of beautiful (babywearing) pictures. This made me so enthusiastic to carry my second baby.
